Kate Prince of ZooNation Dance Company and beatboxer Shlomo are to collaborate on Forbidden Rhythm, a new project at Battersea Arts Centre in London.

Forbidden Rhythm will bring together young beatbox vocalists and streetdancers under the direction of Shlomo and Kate Prince for a week long residency leading up to a performance in October with dancers from ZooNation ZooYouth DanceCompany.

Beatboxers, rappers and vocalists are asked to submit a one minute video of themselves showcasing their talents and uploading the video to YouTube before submitting their details to Battersea Arts Centre for consideration.

Auditions will take place on 17 October with performances from 29 October until 2 November.

Conditions for participating
Applicants must be between 12 – 21 years old
Applicants under the age of 16 must get parental permission before applying
Applicants must be available to do a live audition in London the evening of 17 October
Applicants must be available and in London for project dates: Monday 29 October – Fri 2 November

How to submit for the project
If you are a talented vocalist aged 12-21 and are interested in taking part in this project, you must:
Upload an audition video of yourself to YouTube which is no more than one minute long
In the video show us the widest range of your vocal skills and tell us your name, age and one sentence on why you want to be part of the project
Email the YouTube link to homegrown@bac.org.uk

The deadline for Forbidden Rhythm is 5pm on 1o October 2012
