Got to Dance Live 2011, the exhibition event set to take place at the Excel, London, from 4-6 March 2011 has been postponed until further notice.

Sales of tickets to the show have been stopped, and anyone that purchased tickets for the dance event will receive a full refund, with the organisers are offering free tickets to the remaining live Got to Dance shows.

An official statement said:

“In staging Got To Dance Live, we are committed to the values that make the programme so popular and transferring these to a live celebratory and participatory dance experience, unique in scale, content and superior to any existing dance event. The partners (Sky, Shine Group and Media 10) remain totally committed to this principle, and to ensure it is not compromised in any way, have jointly taken the decision to postpone its planned launch from 2011 to allow for further collaboration and planning to fully realise these ambitions.”

It continued:

“Those people who have already purchased tickets for the planned Got To Dance Live event at ExCel in March will receive a full refund, and in addition as many as possible will be offered free tickets to the remaining live shows in the programme’s current series including the 6000+ capacity live final at Olympia. We would like to sincerely apologise for any inconvenience and disappointment caused by this decision and  but ask fans of Got To Dance to watch this space for future plans. In addition to continuing to develop Got To Dance Live, Sky and Media 10 will continue to work together on Britain’s Next Top Model Live which will be staged later this year.”

Got to Dance Live 2011 is the second corporate scale event to be postponed since Talent Expo and Carnival Choreographers Ball was cancelled in June 2010 due to low ticket sales.

The reason behind Got to Dance Live‘s postponement has not been announced.
