Jordan and Perri’s Ultimate Block Party is to start on Nickelodeon commencing Friday June 13.
Jordan and Perri’s Ultimate Block Party will be an eight part series beginning on Nickelodeon and later showing on Sky produced by Princess Productions, as announced in February.
The series will see Jordan Banjo and Perri Luc Kiely from Diversity travelling the country and surprising children by throwing a block party and choreographing a dance routine for them to perform, spinning off from their roles as backstage hosts for Got to Dance.
“We challenged UK kids to help us throw the ultimate block parties and we couldn’t be more impressed with the results,” said Jordan and Perri from Diversity. “All of the kids we worked with absolutely love to dance and it was so motivating to see their passion on set. They even taught us some new dance moves – you’ve never seen an Irish jig like it!”
Appearances on Jordan and Perri’s Ultimate Block Party will include The Irish Dancers who will be joined by girl band Stooshe, The Blackpool Bunch who attend the Urban Dance Project and will be mentored by Olympic gymnast Beth Tweedle, and The Break Dancers who will receive training from Ashley Banjo.
Princess Productions are the production company behind Got to Dance and Ashley Banjo’s Secret Street Crew on Sky One. Jordan and Perri’s Ultimate Block Party is one of the line up of programmes announced for Sky TV when it was announced Diversity signed a two year deal with them in June 2012.
Stuart Murphy, director of programmes, said last June: “I am thrilled to welcome Diversity to the Sky fold – we are huge fans,” with Sky further adding “more shows being announced in the future.”
Peter Drake, vice president creative director at Nickelodeon UK and executive producer commented: “Street dance is exactly what kids in the UK are into right now and it’s also great to be working closely with our partner, Sky 1 HD to commission shows for kids in a new way.”
