New details on Sky One’s dance competition Got To Dance were announced last week.

Changes made to series two include a higher prize of £250,000 for the winning dancer and a preview episode to broadcast on Sunday 19 December.

Series two of Got to Dance was confirmed in June, announcing Ashley Banjo was to return as a judge alongside Kimberly Wyatt and Adam Garcia.

The first episode of Got to Dance series two starts on 2 January 2011

Filming of the four regional auditions where dancers and dance crews compete for to be selected for place in the final 28 throughout October. Live auditions will take place in front of a studio audience.

Davina McCall, presenter of Got to Dance commented: “I never tire of watching dance, it’s so beautiful. I have seen thousands of people come through the domes to audition and I haven’t been bored once. I could watch dancing forever.”

The winner of the first series of Got To Dance was then 10 year old Akai Osei-Mansfield from Kent, who later went on to appear in West End hip hop musical production Into the Hoods and had a cameo in Streetdance 3D.

The second series of the show will air on Sky 1 in January 2011.
