Kate Prince, founder and artistic director of ZooNation Dance Company is to choreograph the X-Factor musical It’s Time to Face the Musical.

X-Factor – It’s Time To Face The Musical! is created by comedian Harry Hill and music producer Steve Brown based on the TV talent contest and will take place at the London Palladium in 2014. According to the Daily Mail casting is due to take place in May, and rehearsals “after Christmas.”

Sean Foley, who directed stage production of The Ladykillers which won a Laurence Olivier Award, will direct the musical, and Kate Prince has been picked to choreograph.

Es Devlin, who oversaw the lighting and visuals for the street dance extravaganza show Blaze and the Olympics closing ceremony has also been selected for set design.

Kate Prince is the artistic director of ZooNation Dance Company which she founded in 2002. In May 2010 she became an associate artist at Sadler’s Wells Theatre and ZooNation became a resident company.

Kate Prince directed and choreographed ZooNation’s West End hip hop dance show Into the Hoods and wrote, directed and co-choreographed the follow up production, Some Like It Hip Hop, due for its third season at the Peacock Theatre, London, in May 2013.

X-Factor – It’s Time To Face The Musical! is a joint production between Stage Entertainment and Simon Cowell’s company, Syco Entertainment.

The musical will tell the story of a girl called Chenice who lives in a caravan with her grandfather who hasn’t heard of The X Factor because he is in an iron lung that blocks TV signals.
