Got to Dance Series 5 applications for the new series in summer 2014 are now open, and dancers and companies can apply online.
Got to Dance is a dance contest on Sky One that dancers and companies can enter to win a £250,000 cash prize voted for by the public.
“The joy of dance is completely infectious and I was bitten by that bug long ago. Each year I learn something new. Last year it was krumping – whatever next?!” Said Davina McCall, host of Got to Dance. “I couldn’t be happier to be returning to Got To Dance and I can’t wait to meet more dancers ready to take on the challenge. Lets get to twerk… I mean work!”
Past winners of Got to Dance include Akai, a street dancer, Chris and Wes, a street dance duet, Prodijig, an Irish dance ensemble, and Got to Dance 2013 winner, Lukas McFarlane of Canada.
Henrietta Conrad from Princess Productions added: “We are incredibly proud of Got To Dance and as a production team are consistently blown away by the talent that comes forth each year. The arena shows have always been particularly special occasions in previous series so we truly can’t wait to stage a whole week of them this time around.”
In April 2013 it was revealed that format of Got to Dance had been sold to several international TV networks, including versions in Germany, Vietnam, Finland and Romania.
Applications for Got to Dance Series 5 (2014) on Sky One can be found here.
